Doria Ragland has landed in London and is ready to meet her grandchild.
Meghan Markle’s mother has arrived in the UK as the pregnant Duchess of Sussex is due to welcome her first child with Prince Harry any day.
“It is such a happy and exciting time for Meghan,” a source said, according to the New York Post.
“She looks absolutely radiant and is taking each day at a time.”
It comes as April 23 has emerged as the bookies’ favourite for Meghan’s due date, The Sun reports.
If she does indeed have the baby on the 23rd, it would mean Meghan and Prince Harry’s bub would share their birthday with another royal – Prince Louis – who was born on St George’s Day last year.
After Doria reportedly left for London, a dogwalker was photographed walking Doria’s two dogs near her home on Sunday April 21.
Forgoing the traditional photo op outside the Lindo Wing in London, as Kate Middleton and Prince William have done with their three children in the past, parents-to-be Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, plan to keep Baby Sussex’s birth private.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby,” Kensington Palace said in a previous statement.
“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private. The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family,” the statement continued.
After Meghan and Harry announced they were expecting a baby back in October, the Palace also included a statement from Ragland, sharing she is “very happy about this lovely news, and she looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild.”
